Jody Hudson-Powell is a multidisciplinary designer recognised for pioneering the integration of computation, craft and materiality to create dynamic brand identities and experiences. Since joining Pentagram’s London office as a partner in 2015 alongside his brother Luke Powell, they have become known for innovative, culturally impactful work that seamlessly integrates digital, physical, and spatial design with spirited creativity and polymathic curiosity.

With a deeply rooted practice spanning over two decades, Jody’s work brings together coding, generative systems, and traditional tactile processes. He began exploring this intersection at Central Saint Martins before completing an MSc in Virtual Environments at the Bartlett School of Architecture, where he focused on spatial computing and immersive systems—further expanding his practice into three-dimensional space.

At Pentagram, Jody leads projects that redefine how brands communicate visually and experientially. His influential work for Cohere notably reshaped expectations of AI branding by blending organic visual language with advanced computational systems, while his identity for Graphcore set benchmarks in visualising complex technological narratives, reframing perceptions within the tech industry. Other notable clients include Google, X (formerly Google X), DeepMind’s Isomorphic Labs, TwelveLabs, Pienso, and Stereolabs. In gaming and entertainment, Jody has crafted immersive identities for global brands such as Warhammer and Nuverse, and recently developed his own interactive game, Almost Light, highlighting his commitment to narrative-driven design.

His work has been exhibited internationally, including at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York, as well as exhibitions in the UK, Japan, and beyond. In 2023, Jody was elected to the prestigious Alliance Graphique Internationale (AGI), acknowledging his ongoing influence within the design community.

Jody regularly shares insights on the evolving intersections of technology, craftsmanship, and storytelling through public speaking, writing, and mentorship, consistently advocating for a meaningful synthesis of innovation, craft and narrative in contemporary design.
